K. Von Salzen et Kh. Schlunzen, A prognostic physico-chemical model of secondary and marine inorganic multicomponent aerosols - I. Model description, ATMOS ENVIR, 33(4), 1999, pp. 567-576
In this paper, the physico-chemical basics of the sectional multicomponent
aerosol model SEMA are described. SEMA includes condensation and evaporatio
n of sulphuric acid, nitric acid, hydrogen chloride, ammonia, and water vap
our. The model can be applied to predictions of the chemical composition an
d size distribution of aqueous tropospheric secondary and marine aerosols.
In SEMA, multicomponent thermodynamics and particle-size-dependent condensa
tion and evaporation are efficiently coupled by application of a new sectio
nal approach. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
