Abstract
Internet video and audio will be revolutionised by IP multicast, which allo ws a personal computer to send data to tens of thousands of destinations at the same time. Replication by the network means that only one copy is need ed on any link, so that congestion is much less likely. This article descri bes work on broadband video multicast over the BT Futures Testbed advanced network.
