S. Cosnier, Fabrication of amperometric biosensors by entrapment of enzymes in functionalized polypyrrole films, CAN J CH EN, 76(6), 1998, pp. 1000-1007
The concept and potentialities of an original electrochemical procedure of
enzyme immobilization are described. This two-step method consists of the a
dsorption of an aqueous amphiphilic pyrrole monomer-enzyme mixture on an el
ectrode surface followed by the electropolymerization of the adsorbed monom
ers. This procedure is compared with the conventional electrochemical metho
ds of biosensor construction. Several bienzyme electrodes devoted to the im
provement of the biosensor selectivity or to the amplification of the biose
nsor sensitivity are described. In addition, examples of organic phase enzy
me electrode and the electrical wiring of immobilized enzymes are presented
.
