Abstract
In conventional wavelet transforms, prefiltering is not necessary due to th r lowpass property of a scaling function. This is no longer true for multiw avelet transforms. A novel adaptive multiwavelet prefilter is presented whi ch is designed to overcome this problem. Simulation results show that the a pproximation accuracy of thr prefiltering algorithm is satisfactory.
