Abstract
An extended complex radial basis function (CRBF) network is proposed for th e equalisation of a 4-QAM digital communication channel in the presence of additive white Gaussian noise and cochannel interference. The proposed mode l has complex valued regression weights in the output layer, and the hidden unit is defined by a real valued Gaussian formula with Mahalanobis distanc e. it is shown by simulation that the proposed structure gives reduced comp utational complexity without leading to a degradation in performance.
