Abstract
Code-division multiple access (CDMA) has been proven to be one of the promi sing mainstream multiaccessing techniques in future cellular mobile communi cation systems. In this paper, a quality-based birth-and-death queueing mod el is developed for the purpose of evaluating the performance of a CDMA cel lular that supports two-rate transmissions, Performance measures obtained i nclude channel utilization and call blocking probability, Based on these re sults, three call admission schemes are compared.
