This study examined relationships between peer interactions and cognitive o
utcomes during college. Study participants were students at 23 colleges and
universities; outcomes included standardized test scores and self-reported
gains. Peer interactions included course-related and non-course-related ac
tivities, occurring inside and outside classroom settings. Positive signifi
cant relationships were found between peer interactions and cognitive outco
mes.
