Abstract
A concise synthetic methodology for selective deuterium labeling at the ter tiary centers of the fatty acid dimer, FAD-C44 1 is described. Labeling met hodology involves three steps and the deuterium is introduced at the tertia ry carbons selectively by bromination of FAD-C44 followed by reduction with (NaCNBH3)-H-2 and SnCl2.
