Non-isothermal kinetic research has been carried out on oxidation behavior
of beta-Sialon in diphase beta-Sialon/Al2O3 composite at high temperatures.
A kinetic formula is established for nonisothermal oxidation process of be
ta-Sialon. The rate of oxidation process is controlled by chemical reaction
at the initial stage and then by diffusion. The apparent activation energi
es and apparent rate constants at different temperatures are determined by
treating TG data of the overall process.
