Two new sesquiterpene-pyridine alkaloids, laevisines A (1) and B (2), have
been isolated from the bark of Maytenus laevis, along with seven known alka
loids (3-9). Their structures were elucidated by FABMS analysis and 1D and
2D NMR spectroscopy including DQF-COSY, HSQC, and HMBC.
