Abstract
The radiative transfer through an inhomogeneous plane-parallel medium of an isotropic scattering with diffuse and specular reflecting boundaries is con sidered. The medium may be illuminated by a diffuse or collimated light and may have an internal energy source. The Galerkin technique is used to solv e this problem. The calculations are carried out for homogeneous and inhomo geneous media with isotropic or anisotropic scattering containing uniform o r nonuniform internal energy source.
