Abstract
A short-range force constant model was used to investigate the phonons in B aCeO3 perovskite in the orthorhombic phase, The calculations with just 14 s tretching and bending force constants provide good agreement for the Raman wavenumbers, The oxygen-oxygen interatomic forces are included explicitly f or the first time in investigations of phonons.
