Lifting effects on steady flows around ships for various va lues of the Fro
ude number are investigated using a lifting surface method for zero thickne
ss bodies with the steady wave resistance Green's function. To obtain very
short computational times, the Fourier integrals are computed using a Rombe
rg method with a given precision after interchanging the space and Fourier
integrations. With this simple computing scheme, an efficient method for th
e prediction of lifting effects has been achieved. Computations have been l
ed at various Froude numbers for sailing boats with yaw and heel angles, an
d for rudders, with and without simulation of the interaction with the hull
. Simulation of some upstream flows, uniform and nonuniform, are also inves
tigated.
