Abstract
A novel room-temperature method is described for the preparation of microcr ystalline zirconia (ZrO2) in monoclinic form via a simple electrochemical t echnique. Almost-epitaxial growth is observed, with crystal sizes in the ra nge of 5-15 mu m, A tentative reaction scheme also is suggested, to elucida te the underlying process that leads to the formation of the ZrO2 phase.
