Abstract
A model proposed by De Kee and Carreau predicts a stress jump and we compar e the model predictions with the experimental data of Liang and Mackay. The values of the model parameters are determined from the steady viscosity da ta. Using the same values of the parameters, the stress jump as a function of the shear rate is calculated. The agreement between the calculated and e xperimental values of the stress jump is excellent.
