Expressing the NN scattering matrix in terms of irreducible tensor amplitud
es which are directly related to the central interaction in the singlet cha
nnel and the central, spin-orbit and tensor interactions in the triplet cha
nnel, we show how incisive information can be gathered about the NN interac
tion and in particular about tensor interactions at low energies by measuri
ng the differential cross-section employing polarized beam and target with
appropriate geometries.
