Abstract
Using a combination of directional hydrogen bonding and ionic interactions, 1- and 3D molecular networks were obtained in the crystalline phase. It ha s been shown that a bisamidinium dication and dicarboxylate mono or dianion s form one and two dimensional networks in the solid state. The formation o f networks was based on a dihapto mode of hydrogen bonding between the comp lementary dication and dianion.
