Abstract
We calculate a power series expansion of the generalized oscillator strengt h for forbidden excitations by electron impact in Li-like Al, configuration 1s(2) nl, in jj-coupling. In our method we use a configuration interaction expansion for the target wave function including configurations 1s(2) nl w ith n less than or equal to 5. These results are believed to be the first s uch values for this system and will be important in plasma modelling.
