This paper deals with chaotic charge transport in finite amplitude electroc
onvection. In steady finite amplitude electroconvection there is an inner r
egion in the convection cell that remains free of charge. When the liquid v
elocity is time dependent, as it is always observed in experiments, this re
gion is no longer free of charge. Lobe dynamics analysis is used to elucida
