Abstract
Three isomeric A-type proanthocyanidins have been isolated from the root of Prunus armeniaca. They were identified as ent-epiafzelechin-(4 alpha --> 8 ; 2 alpha --> O --> 7)-epiafzelechin (mahuannin A), ent-epiafzelechin-(4 al pha --> 8; 2 alpha --> O --> 7)-(+)-afzelechin and ent-epiafzelechin-(4 alp ha --> 8; 2 alpha --> O --> 7)-(-)-afzelechin, by means of spectral studies .
