A clinical investigation was conducted of therapy of patients with acute pn eumonia using a new antioxidant diquertin, whose primary component is a bio flavonoid, dihydroquercetin, It was demonstrated that patients with acute p neumonia receiving diquertin in an adjuvant therapy had a faster recovery f rom symptoms of pneumonitis and a better state of free radical generating p rocesses in serum lipids, compared with patients undergoing traditional the rapy, The clinical effectiveness of the antioxidative activity of diquertin was confirmed by comparison with an antioxidative complex including alpha- tocopherol acetate and sodium thiosulphate.
