The present paper deals with texture evolution in the most important hexago
nal materials, i.e. zinc, magnesium, titanium and zirconium and for the mos
t common thermo-mechanical treatments. For all the alloys, the texture evol
ution during the hot rolling are commented on, taking into account phase tr
ansformations when they exist. In the same way, the texture evolutions obse
rved during cold rolling are explained in terms of the evolution of the mic
rostructures and deformation mechanisms. The results of the modelling using
plasticity models are compared with the experimental evolutions. The textu
re evolutions during recrystallization depend on the alloy and the initial
texture.
