Abstract
The alkaloid (-)-actinidine of the iridane series was synthesized using int ramolecular [3+2] dipolar cycloaddition of silyl nitronates, generated from (3R/S,6S)-2,6-dimethyl-3-nitro-8-phenylthioocta- 1,7E- and -1,7Z-dienes. T he key nitro compounds were obtained from (-)-(S)-citronellol.
