Abstract
In the February 1998 issue of SIMULATION, Alexander Lebedev discussed the a pplicability of continuous and discrete simulation modelling techniques on bulk conveying systems. In this article, he and Phillip Staples continue on the subject by presenting two case studies simulating real mining operatio ns. The first deals with development and verification of a process control algorithm for underground bunkers on a simulation model. The objective of t he other is sizing of surge and storage facilities.
