Abstract
Orthotopic liver transplantation can be performed successfully in thalassem ia. In this article, we describe a case of liver transplantation in a patie nt with sickle cell/beta-thalassemia complicated by liver sickling. Intrahe patic sickling must be considered in case of allograft dysfunction. This co ndition can easily be diagnosed by biochemical investigation and liver ultr asonography.
