Abstract
The efffect of microwave electromagnetic irradiation on the content of free oxygen in water and water salt solutions was investigated. At an output po wer of the EMF generator of 56 mW, the temperature of water (solutions) inc reased by 0.5-1 degrees C, and the content of O-2 was reduced. The decrease in O-2 content was significantly larger than it was expected from its temp erature dependence. Moreover, the reduced O-2 content persisted for a-long time (up to several hours) after the elimination of the field, i.e., the el ectromagnetic field caused a non-thermal transition of water into a new phy sicochemical state. The conclusion was made that the water component of sol utions can be a primary target in the action of the microwave electromagnet ic radiation on biological systems.
