Abstract
(20S)-22-Benzamido-6 beta-methoxy-3 alpha,5-cyclo-26,27-bisnorcholest-22-en -24-one was synthesized. Its molecular and crystal structures were determin ed by X-ray analysis: orthorombic crystals, space group P2(1)2(1)2(1) with a = 10.909(4), b = 12.221(5), and c = 21.605(6) Angstrom. It was shown that the generation of C20 nitrile oxide followed by its conversion to isoxazol e and further reductive cleavage did not disturb the C20-asymmetric center.
