Abstract
The present paper deals with a microwave plasma torch atomic emission detec tor for gas chromatography, argon was used as the carrier and support gas, oxygen as scavenger and sheath gas, respectively, The response characterist ics of the MPT-AED for carbon in organic compounds was studied. The effect of oxygen sheathing on the detection performance for carbon was discussed.
