Abstract
The 3-methoxydiphenylamine-4-diazonium salt(MDDS) was synthesized using res orcinol and aniline as start materials via six steps with total yield of 36 %. The photochemical and thermal decomposition of MDDS have been investigat ed. It is shown that MDDS exhibit excellent thermostabilities as well as hi gh photosensitive behavior. The thermal decomposition temperature was deter mined to be 178 degrees C which is about 31 degrees C beyond that of diphen ylamine-4-diazonium salt (DS). The thermal decomposition of MDDS in aqueous or ethanol solution was also reported.
