This article is a piece of reflection on the relation between hermeneutics
and deconstruction, which doesn't seek to set itself up on either of the tw
o fields, but rather to insist on their mutual differentiation. As its star
ting point it takes something which both approaches have in common, that is
the concept of TEXT. It appears. however, that the two approaches proceed
with this concept in different ways, and we might draw a parallel between t
his difference and the difference between transitive and intransitive ecrit
ure. Derrida works with a philosophical text such that he also poses himsel
f the question "how is it done". In other words, the deconstructive way of
reading seeks to follow the very "intransivity" of philosophical texts.
