Abstract
An integrated polarization compensator for wavelength-division-multiplexed waveguide demultiplexers is proposed and experimentally demonstrated. It is simple to fabricate, has many advantages over previously reported polariza tion compensation schemes, and is effective in both etched diffraction grat ing and arrayed waveguide grating based devices.
