The design of a quasilinear sensor of angular displacements based on acoust
ic resonance in an antiferromagnetic single crystal was considered. The fre
quency versus angle dependence of a crystalline (alpha-Fe2O3 acoustic reson
ator placed in a rotating inhomogeneous bias field was studied experimental
ly. A linearization of this dependence was obtained, respectively, for freq
uency and angular operation ranges equal to Delta f/f(max) = 14% and Delta
theta = 140 degrees.
