Abstract
The reaction of 3-chloro-5,6-diphenyl-1,2,4-triazine 1 with amino derivativ es and with active methylene compounds have been studies in neutral and alk aline media to obtain 3-heteroaryl- 5,6-diphenyl-1,2,4-triazines. The struc tures of the new compounds have been elucidated with the help of elemental analysis and spectral data. Preliminary screening of some selected compound s for antimicrobial activity is reported.
