Abstract
Phlogacanthin 2, a naturally occurring andrographolide has been isolated fr om Phlogacanthus tubiflorus Nees (Acanthaceae) made available from humid ra inforest of Arunachal Pradesh, India along with the known compounds beta-si tosterol, lupeol and 3-epibetulin. The structure of the new compound has be en elucidated on the basis of elemental analysis and spectral data.
