Abstract
5-Amino-7-aryl-6-cyano-3-substituted-thiazolo[4, 5-b]-2, 3, 4, 7-tetrahydro pyridine-2-thione 3 and 7-aryl-6-cyano-3-substituted-2-thioxo-thiazolo[4,5- b]-2, 3, 4, 5, 6,7-hexahydro pyridin-5-one 4 have been prepared by Michael addition between alpha,beta-unsaturated ketones 2 and malononitrile /ethyl cyanoacetate in the presence of excess ammonium acetate. The insecticidal a ctivity against 5 litura and T. urticeae of the title compounds have been s creened.
