Abstract
The suspension of LiN(PPh2)(2) (1) in CH2Cl2 that is acting in the case und er discussion not only as a solvent but also as an alkylating agent, result s in the formation of [Ph2MeP=N=PMePh2]Cl (2). The metathesis of 2 with NaB Ph4 in acetone yields the title compound [Ph2MeP=N=PMePh2]BPh4 (3). The cry stal structure of 3 has been determined by X-ray crystal analysis.
