Quantitative vegetation ecology in Denmark

This survey deals with quantitative vegetation ecology in Denmark since the pioneering period dominated by E. Warming, C. Raunkiaer and Johs. Iversen. Main topics of this survey are quantitative vegetation description, mainly based on the classical work of Warming, vegetation classification and comm unity ecology, conservation biology and manage ment, vegetation history and palaeoecology, Vegetation dynamics, forest ecology and phytogeography. It is concluded that few Danish studies have dealt with the development of mod els and theories and the application of multivariate statistics.
