Abstract
Unitons of the group U(p, q) defined on a simply-connected region Omega sub set of R-2 are considered. By using Darboux transformation and its renormal ization, we design a purely algebraic algorithm by which new extended U(p, q) unitons can be constructed from a known one. It is proved that all exten ded U(p, q) unitons (and, hence, U(p, q) unitons) can be constructed via th e algorithm. Mathematics Subject Classifications (1991): 53C20, 35Q58, 58F0 7.
