Wa. Herrmann et al., First tungsten complexes with 2 '-pyridyl alcoholate ligands: synthesis, structure, and application as novel epoxidation catalysts, NEW J CHEM, 23(1), 1999, pp. 5-7
Novel tungsten(VI) complexes of the type WOCl3L and WO2L2 [L = 2'-pyridylal
coholate] are formed from WOCl4 or WO2Cl2, respectively, and 2'-pyridyl alc
ohols; the dioxotungsten(VI) complexes (characterised by X-ray crystallogra
phy) can also be obtained from WO2(acac)(2) by ligand exchange; they repres
ent catalysts with remarkable activity and excellent product selectivity in
olefin epoxidation.
