Abstract
A fringe scanning Murty plate lateral shearing interferometer is described. Fringe scanning is achieved with no moving parts by tuning the wavelength of the laser source in steps using a servo system controlled by a second in terferometer. The system combines the simplicity and stability advantages o f the Murty plate with the accuracy of phase stepping.
