Abstract
The acceptability of the ITER Test Modules (ITM) of the DEMO blankets selec ted in Europe to be developed, will be demonstrated using also Non Destruct ive Tests (NDT). The ITM will be manufactured using the same technological options proposed for the DEMO. Therefore, although the design in detail is not yet available, it is possible to analyse from the theoretical viewpoint the problems connected to NDT on the ITM. The problems can be related to three design areas: materials manufacturing technologies geometry As these three areas are strictly correlated, they could not be treated sep arately, however, at the present stage of the design, a preliminary analysi s of the problems can be carried on. ENEA is carrying on, within the European cooperation for the fusion, a R&D program . to define the Quality Assurance principles for welds and NDT meth ods for the proposed ITM geometry.
