D. Guilhem et al., Infrared surface temperature measurement for long pulse real time feed-back control in an actively cooled machine, REV SCI INS, 70(1), 1999, pp. 427-430
Tore-Supra is an actively cooled machine aiming at long pulse operation. Su
rface temperature measurements are necessary in this context to achieve a r
eal time feed-back control on plasma parameters, as well as auxiliary heati
ng systems. Safety interlock is also mandatory when using such actively coo
led elements to prevent any damage due to overheating by the plasma, or a l
oss of active cooling. As an example, it will be shown how the actively coo
led pump limiters test campaign has been conducted. The CIEL project for To
re-Supra is aimed at replacing the old generation of plasma facing componen
ts designed in 1984, by new ones with a full coverage of the inside vessel.
A set of dedicated infrared systems will be used to measure the surface te
mperatures. They will be included in the real time feed-back loop control a
nd the safety system. (C) 1999 American Institute of Physics. [S0034-6748(9
