The diagnostic information from fusion neutron energy spectra under anisotr
opic plasma conditions is investigated analytically and numerically. The io
n anisotropy is parametrized by a Maxwellian velocity distribution with dif
ferent temperatures along (T-parallel to) and across (T-perpendicular to) t
he magnetic field. The (T-parallel to,T-perpendicular to) dependence of sel
ected spectral moments (peak shift, width, and kurtosis) is studied for dif
