The kinetics and mechanism of the sulphatization of manganese slime from th
e zinc electrolysis with Fe(ll) sulphate was studied. The priority of chemi
cal reactions was determined on the basis of the results of thermodynamic c
alculations and experimental research. The sulphatization of manganese by F
e(ll) sulphate was carried out in the temperature range 723-973 K. The kine
tics of the process were determined by the analysis of dependence of the ma
nganese sulphatization rate on time and temperature. It was established tha
t manganese sulphatization is a diffusion and chemically controlled reactio
n (mixed kinetics).
