Abstract
The ability of natural zeolites (ZAPS, ZNT and ZN-19) to adsorb pure CO2, C H4 and N-2, was studied experimentally. The volume of CO2 adsorption in the monolayer (Langmuir) was found to be close to the micropore volume estimat ed by the Dubinin-Astakhov model (N-2, 77 K) for all three zeolites. Consid erable differences in the adsorption of CO2, CH4, and Na with these zeolite s were observed, a factor that can be used for the separation of CO2-CH4 an d N-2-CH4 mixtures. The mechanism of activated diffusion was detected in th e adsorption of CH4 with ZN-19. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights r eserved.
