Abstract
Methylallylether is deprotonated by sec-butyllithium and treated with coppe r(I) iodide in dimethylsulfide to afford the corresponding allylcopper reag ent. This ambident nucleophile adds in highly gamma-1,4 selectivity to seve ral enones and the corresponding ketoenolethers are obtained in good yields . (C) 1999 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
