Abstract
Alpha particle induced reactions in the target element niobium were in vestigated in the energy range 30 to 120MeV. Thirteen excitation funct ions were measured for the production of Tc-96, Tc95m+g, Nb-95, Nb-92m , Nb-90, Zr-88, Zr-88, Zr-88, Y-88, Y87m+g and Y-88. Secondly a compar ison with a preequilibrium equilibrium index model has been made using the initial exciton number n(0) = 4 (4p0h) and level density paramete r a = Als. In general the shapes of the excitation functions were fair ly well reproduced with the model predictions. However, the agreement between theoretical and experimental excitation functions for the (alp ha, z alpha xnyp) type of reactions is only within a factor of 5.
