Abstract
The X-ray crystal structure of the title compound, C14H12Cl2N2, reveals a t rans geometry of the two Cl atoms in the ortho position with respect to the azo group. In the crystal packing the aromatic rings are stacked in a herr ing-bone mode along the y direction.
