Abstract
The conformation of the title compound, C12H19N3O5, in the solid state is s
yn, and the ribose ring is close to the E-4 envelope conformation. The prop
yl side chain is planar and almost coplanar with the cytosine ring, the dev
iation between the two being 4.4 (2)degrees. Hence the overall structure co
nsists essentially of two planes perpendicular [86.2 (2)degrees] to each ot
her, the plane of the sugar moiety and that of the 6-propylcytosine.
