Abstract
According to the statistics of the International Narcotics Control Board of United Nations (INCB), there are large differences in the yearly consumpti on of morphine among the Nordic countries. In order to assess the quality o f management of cancer pain in each country, nationwide questionnaire studi es were carried out in Finland, Norway, Denmark and Sweden in 1989-1992. Th is is a review based on the results of those four surveys.
